Okay guy's, some update:
The code has been heavily improved since the first video and is around 1200% (thousand twohundred per-cent) faster, which basically allows realtime evaluation!
After much investigating, I also can now use two webcams simoultanousely which was the mayor problem in prior versions. This now allows also the moving in both axes.
I am very confident, that I can make a new video this week and demonstrate the improved version.
Stay tuned!

Isn't it possible to have 2D movement with just one webcam? Perhaps you can use some sort of paper with markings below to determine the relative movements or something? I'd figure with 2 webcams it would be possible to determine 3D movements already, or .. did I completely misunderstood and is it possible to track 3D movement now? Cheers

Aigh't as said, no clue what I should write but here ya go.
Sounds good. Awesome! Great! Thanks for keeping us up to date on your fabulous project!
No but seriously: Sounds good. 1200% are a lot, considering that it already appeared to be pretty fast in the last video. Sure am looking forward to a beta. Might actually motivate me to get a webcam
