It's a very nice game! Gameidea, models, leveldesign, sound and the music(if more varied) are very good. I've played the first stage (9level) up to now (and will continue playing - it definite big fun)
Some techincal things I would change: - ALT+Enter should be disabled or should change the status in the options - the sound volume control (also) changes the music volume - the mouse (cursor) should not be visible if not in use (i klicked around at the beginning of the game) - at the first start the checkbox "Music OFF" was selected event the music played
Some gameplay things so far: - already sayed but worth sayed twice: the sparks/... should change behind the player - the free cam (SPACE) should be described (not only the binocular but also arrow-keys) - I would like a free rotating Free-Look camera (changing to the static cam when playing) - Make bigger levels be solved with more than one way. - MOST IMPORTANT: Give me a final game goal. (A good game has small goals (solve the level) some master goals (bosses) and a final destination ("free the princess", "slay the dragon", ...) Level oriented games become a little boring without a purpose.
The idea and graphics in overall look great. The style you've chosen looks cartoony which gives it an attractive view !! As for the stencil shadows, I've used them in one of my past projects too but they meshed up the framerate so I wouldn't recommend to use them. Nice job so far Damocles
Edit: I finished the beta version but on the second floor, is it supposed that the doors don't give access to the next portal ?? I guess this is the case because it's just a beta version ^^ :
-nicer grafix for startpoint, levelnumbers, some elements, poles -solved levels can be reentered (this was actually more work, than it looks) -player now dies on! the traps, not in front of it -explanations of levelelements
I could enter a quicksave, but I think it is part of the game, to remember the correct route, as done in many other puzzle games.
