A while back I posted somewhere that using tga's with alpha transparency is a good way to go for realistic low-poly hair. I forgot where the post was, but I did want to give an example, so here it is. Please forgive the cut-out, but it is an ingame screen, and the content had to be edited out. Also, please do not reproduce a resemblance of this character. If you'd like to learn how to make tga based hair, please PM me and I'd be happy to help you out

Indeed, great job The realistic look is better than I've expected when using a tga texture file to make low poly hair, maybe you should make tutorial out of it I think alot of users will be interested in using this methode !! Cheers Frazzle

Just an afterthought, there are no shadowmaps here, shaders or special effects of any kind. You could very easily take that hair texture, normal map it ,adn then apply to the polys. I bet that would give alot of depth to the hair as well.

oh cool, ty jostie, heh. I just wanted to let you know that I wasnt trying to talk about something without knowing it could be done. oh, I'm not sure if you know this, but the if you call this variable before the main function it solves alot of sorting issues:
d3d_entsort = "";
i think it defaults to 0, or off. 2 works well, but 3 can to.
