I think you scale the models too large, 192 quants for a gun! Too big I think. Scale down the model and shorten the distance, everything will be fine.

Unfortunately that is no solution for me,- actually I'm working on a big area (>5km²) that can change it's dimensions during development and customer needs. So scaling all my levels according to a strange lightning-engine-value now and on every sizing-update is out of the question!

(Well, after 7 days there is still no solution/clear answer for this problem that shouldn't be that exotic - Come on, it's just a stencil shadow!)

Never, really NEVER combine "just" with "stencil shadow". They make a lot of problems...

I agree, but techniques for generating and rendering stencil shadows aren't really the problem here. I just want to display them in the whole scene...

In the manual, there is limit in map size
Quote:

Map size (Quants) 100000.

So what problem if use 19 quants for the gun instead of 192? And I don't think the light range is strange, the max. range is 2000, if 1 quant == 1 inch, that light is pretty strong already.

i 'solved' the prob.
you have to compile the level with create_meshes then shadowrange == light_range.
(remember i only have sun and ONE pointlight so this shouldn't matter at all, but hey - the sh*t works...)

Maybe you should post this behavior in the bugs forum. I don´t think that this is intended.
