And there are some weird polygons on the head, where the "horns" go out, but that are just probably because you have mirrored it and are not ready yet? ^^

I personally think this needs a bloody texture and.. the eyes would be black and glister of innocence ^^, and he has to have some cute fur, and long sharp teethes ^^
Maybe a wet nose.. wet of BLOOD!

^^ Its a good beginning anyway

Wow ello,
this looks very nice. You mentioned zSpheres, what exactly is this?
A 3d modeling tool like zBrush?

cheers

thanks for your tips.. atm. i have some renders from zBrush zu present (zwecklos, zSpheres are one modeling tool of zBrush, very powerfull, maybe you check this thread http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=9904 - not the first image but the following are very very great)

now i am facing the problem that the difference between lowpoly and the highpoly version is too high to be visualized just by normal-mapping. lets see how this works out...

edit: here are some shots from the engine:

argh I think a long time what I can write here... frist I will say...
its zbrush there you can make better models I knew it Im working with it..
than I think... that all people had start with easy models... but than I
see zbrush and .. well... i realy want to give you a good feedback.. so:
look on the hands thats a problem in zbrush for beginners maybe workin in
other proggs like 3Dmax or wings... import it in a subdiv and give it details..
details is the main part and the POWER of Zbrush you can give the models a hugh mass of polygons and make than for games a low polygon with 2-3 clicks... so why you dont try to make more details.. I give you an example form an old work...
http://mastak.ma.funpic.de/pics/lion.jpg
and here the low polygon model steps(not the final i must say)
http://mastak.ma.funpic.de/pics/polycountlion.jpg

so try to work on you, you on the right way but not still perfect

(sry for my english its too late for me XD)

thanks:) you can of course talk german, i dont care about cross posting. however, i guess i'll stick with modelling in zBrush, since it is more intuitive than poly by poly modelling in c4d for example. this is btw, my first zSphere model that i continued to somewhat level. i am just starting to learn and work with zBrush, since i just purchased it few days ago.

nice lionhead btw, however i guess you will get problems because of the polyflow. thats what i specially like about zSpheres. they produce a nice polyflow

Well, it looks a little nasty i agree, it should follow the mussels on a lion and try to stick to more quad shapes. But with normalmaping this may not be noticed if the model not is animated in that area. Though it looks nasty when you look at its polygons

animating that beast will become a nightmare

its something different and i like the idea of this beast grabbing you with his large feet...could be interesting.

another thing you should take care of are the transitions between single bodyparts. sculpting is nice but requires lots of patients when it comes to links and joints.
whenever something can be bent there should be some sort of visible muscular set up.

right now your alien looks like its inside of a space suite. (when people model humans and dont take care of it, they end up looking like astronauts in their barly moving suits).

keep it up, i like it so far.

cheers

thanks for the tipp, blattsalat. i'll try to keep this in mind and also to work accordingly.

right know i'd like to show two more lowpoly models (along with the zSpheres to show the ease of modelling in zBrush)

any c&c are welcome.
