well, I did not want to show too much...so here is one of my villages that I have been "playing" with, just trying to get a good setup(hide drawing, and look decent).... BTW: same old characters here, but they are being worked on I promise. -Justin

Yes, I have been working on that..I can bake those in, but to get a non generic look it takes a huge image as you need to texture both sides of each image...when, nad if we have 2 UV sets I could use the second to map th shadows, until then I am stuck with it. The other option was to trace down and convert the trace_hit into a screen vector, get the RGB get the mean and adapt that to the modls ambient..got really slow. Reading '2 UV sets' and 'get the RGB' - I wonder whether you are aware of ventilator's plugins. Are you?

Then, what you need is ventilator's supertrace.dll! As far as I know, it is free: supertrace thread Although, I'm not sure whether it works without his mesh.dll. Maybe, you simply need the second skin for the shadowmap...

It might be a 'small' update but it gives us a proper idea of the concept and I like it so far Of course, there is always room for improvement but I reckon you're experienced enought to create a more plausible feeling Cheers Frazzle
