really really cool i'd love to see this develop further and give it a go when it does.

nice work. and there isn't really anything else i can say, coz you seem to know exactly what you need to do.

am i correct in assuming you'll be able to buy more/different fish?

Heck yes you can buy different kinds of fish, and various features for your tank as well.

EDIT: Little demo, probably the last until I *ahem* register molebox *ahem*. Not really much is functional right now, it is mainly just visual elements, but you can get the feel for what I am trying to do. Demo.

A couple of updates:

In the next couple of days I will release a demo, nothing special, but I plan to have the interface worked out.

The fish now have better collision and move a bit better, though most of the effects such as ripples and bubbles have been removed.

The fish now eat.

There is a stamina system that controls how long the fish can "dart", when all stamina is gone the fish must become idle in order to recover. It's just a realism effect, no real use.

There are four storage (inventory) boxes that can be moved around the screen using the mouse (all window-type panels can be moved). They can be minimized and moved as well.

the menu system looks very dynamic, which is a good thing if it doesn't complicate things.

i'm looking forward to more.

The cycle of life is complete... Translation = MoleBox is expiring, this is the last demo for awhile. There will be regular demos once I get some cash to register, unless I can find a free file packer that actually works.

I axed the multiple inventory boxes because it just made more sense to make one large box.

The fish feed in a general way, it's a crude method, basically if there is food in the tank then every fish's food level is increased.

This is just a tech demo, I know it looks like a mostly functional game, but it's not.

Controls:
Left Mouse Button - Click on panels and boxes and fish, etc...
Right Mouse Button - Deselects the currently selected fish.
Middle Mouse Button - Hold to rotate the camera, scroll the wheel to zoom.

If examining a fish, you can exit the pop-up menu and still retain the examination function on that fish, it isn't cancelled until you close the box.
