Looks very promosing For now i'll wait for the updated demo. The available version in the link above still contain bugs that are already reported.

@Frederick: If you mean the whole project, atm not. Thats the biggest last step I'll have to make. But of course you can use the open function of the tool, and by that use it as normal Map-Editor.. But as already said, atm not as Ingame-Editor.

@D3D: Sorry the next demo will be delayed for one day, because I worked the whole day on a new feature for the effect library.

@Fear: Yes that will be the last feature i will add to GameEdit (next to the effect library) and maybe skin changing support for Materials.

Effect library enhancments: You can now see examples for the needed bitmaps for the shader (like normalmaps, skys etc.), and also directly implement them into your script (without seeing any code-line). Addionally you can edit the material you want to implement with the Project Manager of WED.

some feedback after my first look into it:
- the mouse pointer is too slow. it should feel the same as in windows.
- the transform widgets need improvement. like in other 3d software it shouldn't be possible that the mouse cursor moves away from the widget too much while dragging it.
- terrain sculpting always crashes for me. i am not sure but i think it happens if i cross the border of the active terrain tile.
- clicking in the rmb menu shouldn't select entities. for i example i do "edit entity settings" and suddenly the terrain in the background is selected.
- shouldn't it be "exterior" instead of "outerior"?

The latest demo can be downloaded from http://www.hawkgames.de/demo.rar . I would appreciate many bug reports and feature wishes in the Bug-Tracker at http://www.hawkgames.de/bug . As you see, feature wishes will be implemented if they are senseful. It contains the new effect library and many bug fixes and small features.



@vent: Point 4 and 5 fixed. I'll have a look at 1-3 tomorrow.

Okay, added the last big Feature in the last two days (besides implementing the post-processing effects to my effect library ): Editing Entity Skins.

1) You can see, load and save the Skins of an Entity.
2) You can edit the Skin of your Entity in your default image editing software, without exiting GameEdit. The Skin is automatically reloaded in the Game AND SAVED in the MDL file.
3) Last but not least you'll be able to generate Normalmaps/Uv-Maps/Noise-Maps and Cubemaps with the new Texture Window. By that you won't have to create the most bitmaps you need for effects in external programs, but you can add effects directly to your programm (via create material / or tbe effect library) and generate the needed skins in GameEdit.
