i usually don't ask for stuff like that, but i - and as i've discovered recently - some other users are stuck here. i am able to create a control as child window inside the acknex window, but the control gets overdrawn somehow by the engine, causing aweful flickering which makes the use nearly impossible. still i've now found out that putting controls in full screen does indeed work. the flickering remains here, though.

jcl, as you must have deep knowledge in directx-programming: is there a way of embedding windows controls inside an acknex engine window? without the flickering?

thank you in advance,
joey.

I don't think you can use common Windows Controls on a DirectX window. Use the DXUT library for DirectX-compatible controls. You can find details in the DirectX SDK documentation.
