Omni light support? Neat-o!
So just for the record: I'm definately interisted in this

What about models using self illumination maps? Are they still lighted or ist the shadow rendered over them?

Which textureformat are you using for rendering the depthmap (2 for variance maps?)?
Do you use any special algorithms to enhance the sunlight shadows (like psm or tsm?)?

Can you achieve this effect in A7 without a view entity but with a view material?

That would be a extremely nice and handy solution!

What else can I say, variance shadowmapping is based on a new technique for creating realtime realistic shadows and it seems you worked it out pretty nicely together with A6
Great work !!

Yes and it works due to the fact that a7 is downward compatible. But you should use the new PPE effects in A7 which are mentioned in the upcoming/released BETA because of a nicer and even faster implimentation of this technique. We haven't done this yet.

Thanks for answering all the questions!

So if I have A7 there is no real need for your modul/plugin ?

I'd be very interested in purchasing this. As I'm in a real need of realtime shadows. Although, In the past I had problems getting PP shaders to work with different resolutions and a different that regular camera.arc. Since it has to be applied to a view entity. Would the new updates to A7 solve these problems? Any plans of release? It looks great, and I really like the fact that you can keep all your existing shaders on the models.

The shadows will be blendet over it.

Yes that could be done.

As I can see now, A7 does not support these technique directly. I think you have to prgram that yourself or wait for an A7/A6 plugin which can do that.

do you still use some static shadows or do you only use dynamic shadows now?

i think with the features jcl has implemented recently (or still is implementing) such things are possible without any plugin in a7.

With "plugin" I mean scripts (*.c, *.wdl). The lightmap you'll see on the geometry in the indoor movie is a model which uses your dll (2nd uv-set) to add ligthmapping to it. That's because we are only able to use models in/with shaders. The dynamic thing is the mentioned variance shadowmapping.
