but uvs are kept, so i don't mind reloading the textures. i'm more concerned about animations.

The LW fbx exporters are working properly on LW9. You have to include your texture just like you have to do with obj, 3ds and other formats as well.

I could export lwo files to fbx, converted them to collada later on and imported them into other engines. It works perfectly.

as dae 1.4 is a relatively new format, the ways of encoding and decoding these files seem to be different from program to program. as dae is just an xml structure, the ways of arranging tags varies a lot, even if they mean the same - reminds me of the w3c-html-discussion
