Hey people,

we're looking to work with a leveldesign and character artist to hand-draw a handful of different places and characters (with 1 or 2 poses per character, not animated), in order to supplement the art of RUDI, the open source Christmas game (see here). The project has no funding at all (it is an open source project and we are doing this in our free time), so you are required to do this for free. Though, our ambition is to stand apart from the crowd.

The characters would be integrated in new levels and the existing northpole level, ie. a cartoony, happy mood. Work would be done in batches of only some characters/places at a time. The successful candidate can expect touching up the resulting art a few times, and we will provide precise and timely feedback. Remote work from any timezone is fine using IM and email as collaboration tools. Your artwork will be not released to the public without your permission! Your artwork will be a basis for our 3D modeling and further 2D art. If you have solid modeling skills as well, we would really like to see it, too!

If we do find someone that can take our characters to the next level, there would probably be repeat business from us - in other projects where you will certainly be paid.

If you would like to take this opportunity, please PM or email me a link to your portfolio or just a rough collection of your former works.

If you never heard of RUDI before, check this thread or take a look at the project's website . Here is a gallery and here is a trailer on YouTube of the game released one week before Christmas Eve 2007.

You can download the game here: http://www.christian-behrenberg.de/projects/Rudi/Download/Rudi_0.1_setup.exe

Best regards,
Christian

Ok... seriously. In most cases people come and go and want to join projects like hell. Instead of other projects which are out there and base upon a "free" base, we provide stable communication and feedback cycles as well as a stable development foundation of the game so that you don't have to fear that the game would'nt make it.

We just need one additional person that does some easy design jobs so that we can focus on other things which we had'nt the time for during the very short range of 75 days until the public version 0.1. We just want to improve the game and march along.

It really doesn't matter if you think you are too bad or too good for the project. It is free, open source and for a good will.

I appreciate any comments on this and I want to underline my hopes in some of .. YOU!

Cheers,
Christian
