Demo of "Tower"

Download the demo (28 meg download) DEMO

Tower is a fun game for the whole family. A game where you can shoot lazers and rockets have massive explosions and nobody dies. You learn how to play Tower very quickly but may never fully master this 3d puzzle game.

Screenshots below

I'll have a webpage up for tower very soon. While it doesn't say it in the help documents, you can press H for help and you can also use the controller to play the game.

Tower is Copyright 2005-2006 Foxhound Production

I tried that off the start actually, got tired of how the blocks looked very quick. More distracting then anything else.

NEWS
I'm hard at work on tower. Putting in new music, different sound effects, adding in extra options and replacing all the place holder images. The game looks very different now, but the gaemplay is still the same. I should have an 8-12 level alpha demo done soon. Until then here is a screen shot of the new title page.

is improving!
btw, by hitting f5, the resolution changes, but the button graphics/the cockpit donīt --> they are crowded together in the upper left corner. so a) disable the stadard resolution change key or b) make the image size depending on you screen res.

Good job man Foxie! Fortunately your games concept isn't exactly the same as X-cube 2 which I'm currently working on. But I wish you luck finding a publisher for your game!

So that was you! When I had come up with the idea of tower, I had it comming down from the ceiling like most puzzle games seem to do. I was just about to start coding on it when i seen Xcube. To say I was mad is like saying the great wall of China is long. (although I did reply nicly in my post to xcube) Then I thought. I'll have it come out of the ground, like some emerging tower.

I always thought I would come up with a better name then that.

News:

A new more impressive demo will be done very soon. Even the last screen shot I posted isnt accurate at this point. while the gameplay is pretty much the same, the look of the game is very different.

The demo will have the first 8 of the 88 levels of the full game. A player load and save set up. High scores are kept for each level. Including how long it took you to finish each level, what score you made on that level, the highest score made on that level when no IND blocks were made, how many rockets collected.

After leaving a game you will be able to come back to it starting on the first level of any world you have made it to. You will also be able to see all the high scores for each level and play one level at a time to make better scores.

I'll see about getting screen shots up, but it may be faster just to get the next demo done. Tower is very close to looking as it will in the final version.

have you played Incredibubble Foxhound? It's an awesome game also made with Gamestudio by Sammy Suricate. The reason I'm asking is because its very similar to your game. You also rotate around a stack of cubes trying to match the colors. The difference is that in yours, you blow up the cubes, in Incredibubble you are shooting them into the stack to match the colors, I think you would really enjoy playing, the music is great and the graphics effects are good too! Good job on your improvements....... Also, someone named Sergio on this forum is also making a color matching block puzzle game that I have helped with a little. The closest thing I've made to this is a little puzzle game where you throw out fruit, trying to make rainbows: click here to download it (10 MB)

Never heard of that game before now. I'll take a look at it when I can. Looks interesting.

George of the AUM recently Interviewed me about Tower. Check out issue 55 for this. He got the screen shots for the demo ahead of time (They are in issue 55 of the AUM), but here they are now.

And here is the link to the NEW DEMO. It comes in it's own installer. It comes in at a bit below 28 megs.

I'm looking for any bugs or critics anyone can give me. Thanks.

edit: you'll need to be able to run ogg files for the music. I've inlucded the codec in the installer.
