Love for Sail - Trailer

Hi, this is a revival of an old post, called Sailing Simulator. A year later (has it been that long? ) and my game is ready (former game name: SailinGreece). You can have a look at the trailer here:

trailer (8 MB)
trailer (23 MB)

As we speak, my playable demo is being shown to publishers. Depending on the interest, I plan to release it to this forum for the first time. Also, the website is old material and is currently under reconstruction.

Very nice trailer. This looks like such a good game, made me want to play it. Very nice graphics and mood to the game as well!

WOW, what an amazing trailer !!!!
I really got into that sailling atmosphere.
The graphics as ROMAC already said, are looking
very very very nice, the water shader seems just
perfectly, nice job with water
The sun effect gives the game a summer look so
that's a real plus point you added to the game.
I really need the summer, winter here has taken to long

A small thing you could add is maybe when you
a stearing, the stearing wheel should turn but
at the trailer you see the stearing wheel rotating
only when it's changes view. This is probaly because
you used it as a camera to move around the level
but please correct me if I'm mistaking.

I was just wondering the nexus size you're justing because is looks
like a very big level.

Overall for the video 9/10

Nice trailer, though I am not sure if hard rock is the most appropriate genre for the intro
Also the lensflare effect looks out of place.

Wow!

Now that looks like a cool game!
I usually dont really like sailing simulators, but Ive played a few, and I can imagine how hard that was to do in 3dgs. Congrats on this, this is simply amazing!

I noticed the lens too, also I can't actually see where "I" am going, you should've added a pointer, or did I missed it

I like the water

Thank you all for your kind words.
You will notice that I have updated my first post with a larger trailer version. Both versions are the same, so don't bother the download time if you don't need to see this in greater detail.

I think that most of your observations should be cleared out once you play the demo, but I really welcome your points as I value them greatly and there is still time to fix things.

@frazle: nexus size is 120, you're indeed right about handling a too large world. Islands are created and removed on the fly, though.

Few things.

The sailing is nice, I downloaded the demo. Somehow the particles in the video is much better. I can see the block Im sailing on's edges since its partially transparent. I noticed you used Silent Hunter IIIs dails as your own. This is illegal and I hop you change them for the release. I love how your camera works.

All in all, very well done. It still needs some work, but if you polihs it nicely we will have a killer game.

oops my fault!
I should mention that the demo in the website is waaaaay old (8 months to be exact). A LOT of things have changed since then.

Please, the rest of you, DON'T download this demo as it contains a faulty compression and produces a virus warning.

Wow! This looks very nice. Great Work. I am often pleasantly surprised by the quality of work 3dgs users put out.

Can I really learn stuff about sailing from this game? That would be cool.
