Nysho and the Attack of the Boons - Shiny update..

Hey,

So some of you might remember playing a demo for my game Nysho and the Attack of the Boons a while back. You can still find the thread if you search. Anyway, new university commitments meant it was unintentionally backbenched for a while but recently I'm picked it up with the intention of finishing it.

I'm in that "last 10%" stage where it's just refining and tail ends to tie up left. My to do list is pretty short, level design is done and the core code is as it should be. Anyway, I thought I'd post some new screenshots so you can see how it's going. The main difference is the new shading, an often suggested feature.

Comments and crits are deffinately welcome, always great motivation!

FYI - The game is currently publisherless. I intend to approach retail publishers first, seeing a game of mine on a shelf is a dream. I'm not going to approach them however without having a complete product that I'm happy with. After that I'd be looking to approach the casual/shareware download sites.

SwordGATEScas, cheers, cant ask for a nicer compliment than trying to download it before its done I'm sorta sitting on my hands at the moment what with some final coding and music been done outwith my twisted mind. Sooo to entertain myself, rather than study for exams, I've decided to work on some fresh levels. Might end up being one, two or three more levels in there, depends on how long other people take. I'm a bit here and there about how long the game will take most to complete. Considering the price it will come out at etc etc etc I'd be more than happy with about 8 hours of gameplay. It's totally impossible to judge though because obviously I just fly through the levels. It's a lot wider and more open than the other 3 woodland levels, a lot more elevated as well, has more in common with the later stages of the game but it still fits nicely. The original plan was to get a publisher and whilst there was some interest there was a great deal of difficulty in getting that first foot in the door. People never replying to emails and such. So with that in mind, and not wanting a game left unplayed I'm asking for a little help from anybody who may be able to help. Should things stay the same as they are the game will probably be released as freeware, which is very good but I did kinda want that first shiny box to be proud of Lost Games WIP - Nysho and the Attack of the Boons Rise up and flame me like the prepubescent man you outa be son!

themgsman Newbie T Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 19 Virginia, USA	I like the idea of the face getting sad as your health gets lower. I would say that the textures could use a little work, seem a bit rough. I also noticed that the character has a shadow, but nothing else, not even the other enemy characters in the game, that seems unrealistic. And the main character does seem very rigid, perhaps a bit more relaxed when he is standing still. However overall the game looks nice, it has a very warm and friendly look to it.
