@ello: it's most probably in your spam folder. i am on their mailing list also and have to dig my "unknown" and "spam" folder for their mails every now and then.
it would be cool if fbx models could get exported from that editor. i didn't check it out yet but is something like that possible or planned?
It definitely has no export option inside the creature creator, however perhaps it saves the models as fbx somewhere on your har drive. I haven't checked that, but it would not surprise me much if it would involve some reverse engineering for us to be able to get to the actual model files...
Pretty cool thing that creature creator tool, the graphics didn't blow me away.. but it's still a title I'm looking forward to. Pretty incredible how they got the animation system done, being all procedural.
i doubt it would save as .fbx if it doesn't export to it. they want people to share their creations all over the internet, and everything you play against to be someone else's creation. it's probably a very small format of their own with just enough information for spore to figure the rest out procedurally.
lots of fun though. i'm uploading a video now. great built-in video-capture and stuff (the videos are small and wussy, but hey it's all in realtime and it's for putting on youtube).

does anyone know why they would sell the creature editor as a seperate software than the actual spore game? It seems to me that the creature editor would be included in the game...so what would be the benefit of getting the creature editor in addition to the game?
Also, maybe just Europe, but we dont have to pre-order the creature editor here, it is already available...its the game itself that can be pre-ordered.
This editor is of course a marketing instrument to catch you to buy the full game. At least it works for me, I like the procedural animations and the creativiy that much that I will buy this game.

Yes it's included in the full game as well.. if you like you can buy the creator now and later on enter a coupon code and get a discount... the amount you've paid for the creature creator. It's all marketing to create a hype.

Yeah, we can buy the Creature Creator here also, I've just done this.. no pre-order and I could simply download the full Creature Creator afterwards.

Yeah, I suppose you are right about that. It wouldn't make sense to send large model files all over the internet when the creature creator only needs some parameters to figure it out procedurally anyways,

Ohh that makes sense...I'll probably get it also if I can get a discount on the full game.

I dont know. People quickly found ways to extract The Sims 2 meshes to .obj, but its difficult to extract animations. So they will probably find ways to reverse engineer it and get the mesh and textures out.
