Also, maybe just Europe, but we dont have to pre-order the creature editor here, it is already available...its the game itself that can be pre-ordered. If that is a reaction on my comment, I did mean the game .

If that is a reaction on my comment, I did mean the game Oh ok. Um if someone is planning on using that ea download service to download creature creator I highly discourage it, for number one reason: ABOUT THE EA DOWNLOADER ======================== 1)There are absolutely no refunds or returns for any games bought through the online store 2)It is a peice of &*(%$$$$!!@@ full of DRM software, always running in the background sheist. 3)It doesnt UNINSTALL properly, you have to use a program like revouninstaller to completely get rid of it. 4)If you have two or more comps in your house you wont be able to put them on more than one... 5)Also, you cant get your file back if you reformat or switch computers! You have to pay them an extra $5 for them to keep it 2 extra years on their server. On another note I think spore is going to have that thing there anyway to get all of the downloadable content of other users. It's all marketing to create a hype.
This editor is of course a marketing instrument to catch you to buy the full game. You know what, I dont think that marketing is the whole idea behind creature creator release, this is their method to beta test the functionality of their software also: 1)They can see what issues they are going to need to fix on different comps and video cards 2)They can check the functionality of their DRM activation garbage 3)They can get $10 a game (or $15 if you buy the extended downloader) to have us beta test their game. Dont let them fool you, we are just their guniea pigs here.

i doubt it would save as .fbx if it doesn't export to it. they want people to share their creations all over the internet, and everything you play against to be someone else's creation. it's probably a very small format of their own with just enough information for spore to figure the rest out procedurally. Yeah, I suppose you are right about that. It wouldn't make sense to send large model files all over the internet when the creature creator only needs some parameters to figure it out procedurally anyways, after playing around a bit, i think i was wrong . the editor builds builds the meshes "metaball"-style (you can see that as particular body-parts grow without looking low-poly, and how if you place arms too close together they attatch to each other), but then the models themselves look somewhat cleaner when in use. also, in the sporeapedia, pre-made models load faster than the textures alone when switching between build-mode and paint-mode (or at least, the speed is comparable). so i think it does save them as a more useable file-type. i think the distribution of the creature creator so early is more than just marketing and testing (while those are definitely parts of it)... the full game itself is supposed to be filled with creatures other players made, and from the first time i heard of this i wondered how the first players would come across many other creatures of higher complexity. this early release is how. julz what have you guys made? No idea. It wont go on my geforce go 7800 gtx laptop, so Ill have to try it on my wife's comp... geforce 7800 is on their 'list', though, maybe it just doesnt like the 'go' type. Your creatures look interesting tho, I like the first one best.
