Funny guy indeed, I'm so glad Hillary did not win..

but I hope she won't become vice-president. Any word on who Barack will chose as running-mate for vice-president?

Cheers

Yes, he is a opportunistic populist, but he has to be. If you're not.. then you won't win an election in the US. Just look at Bush versus Al Gore... and just about all previous elections.

I am really curious to see how many people will eventually vote republican though.

his Old Testament references were just dumb. yes, they're in the Bible, but in a hugely different context which is not worth discussing here in morbius but the important thing is: to a Christian, New Testament teachings replace Old Testament teachings. why make an example out of the Old Testament? you won't reach any Christians.

but Obama's correct that accusing him of anything theological is taking things too far. from what i can see all he's doing is using bad examples to support his idea that a strictly Biblical view is not the political way to go. trust a well-known evangelical to blow it out of proportion wink by doing so he allows Obama to argue back (which he did).

all though i agree that he isnt quite right in his interpretation, I despise dobson, and this is one of the huge reasons why, he has no business make what seems like a volatile attack at obamas personality over a lack of interpretation.

This is not correct. New Testament teachings do not REPLACE Old Testament teachings. Jesus said (in the New Testament), "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." (Matthew 5:17) Replacing and fulfilling are two different things. We have a saying that goes like this:

"The New is in the Old concealed. The OId is in the New revealed!"

In other words, the truths of the Old Testament are brought to their conclusion and fulfilled there. Therefore, there is much for the Christian to learn from the Old Testament. In fact, there are things mentioned about the Messiah in the Old Testament that are not even intimated in the New Testament. Without the Old Testament we would not have this knowledge.

I would disagree for a variety of reasons. One reason is that Obama claims to be a Christian and, yet, his interpretation of biblical passages shows he does not know much about the faith he espouses. Obama, by speaking on the passages of the Bible that he referenced, was reaching out to people of faith (Christians and Jews). However, by misapplying those passages he ends up alienating himself from a decent segment of them and Dobson is just pointing that out.

If I had made a comment about genetics and a geneticist heard my comment and knew that my comment was wrong, he would have every right to correct me. Obama made a quote and comment about biblical passages. Dr. Dobson, a Christian and Bible teacher, heard those comments and has a right to comment on what Obama said. Obama is not a minister (nor does he claim to be). Dr. Dobson does (to some degree) and, as a result, he has a right.

yes but a more professional correction would have been better applied.

well, i like the guys seperate religion from the state point, because as a person who does not belive in anything god-related (actually, i think people who think religion is more important than anything else may be a threat to scociety) i can really see the good idea behind that.
in countries, where religion and politics are together, the only thing there is is the lack of freedom, war and slavery of the mind.

a few things i dont want, need or like...

sorry but what i meant was that New Testament moral law replaces (not entirely) Old Testament law. it was meant in a moral context. obviously the Old Testament laws from Leviticus and Deuteronomy are for a rising nation focusing on surviving and overcoming, while the New Testament laws are for a spiritual movement, spreading and permeating the world.

it's obvious why obama didn't reference the ten commandments.
