You can create a skybox in WED, it will move with the camera but theres still a box. Well I don't know how such a box behaves in A7, I don't use WED anymore :P only lite-c.

Quote:

1) How do you adjust the size of your skycube if it is created in code? I.e. Entity* sky_whatever{}

You don't, you're not creating a block surrounding the level with sky through lite-c. So if you only used lite-c then you can never bump into your skycube.

Quote:
2) When you say 'infinite' do you mean you put in 1,600,000 for the level size in WED, or is there some constant representing infinite?

It's a code limit, because an integer only can hold up to around 1,6 mil. After it will count further at the lowest number, which is -1.6 mil. It's written in the manual.

Quote:
3) Were you in fact adjusting the size of your level in WED, or is there some way to set it in lite-c?
I never ever had to adjust any size in WED, nor is there any way to do so, because there shouldn't be any limits other than visible entities and stuff. But bumping in invisible walls? no.

Quote:
4) In your space level, are there any objects in it, or just your spaceship?
Yes blocks and models

You rock for the timely reply!!

I create my skybox in lite-c as well, so I assume it should behave as yours is (and not be constrained by the skybox). So I'm fairly confident that my skybox isn't the issue. I think my original hypothesis holds, though I would love to be corrected (for real!).

Forgive me for restating my question, but how are you moving your ship? Do you manually set my.x, do you use c_move, or do you use phent_addcentralforce and/or phent_addvelcentral?

May your camels multiply a hundred-fold!

Hey BES, Im know Im only a newbie myself but one skycube problem I came across once had the same
symptoms as you.
My problem was that I created the skybox fine and all was well until i moved my ship. I would bounce off the
walls when I hit it!

I had overlooked keeping the box centered on my ship after every frame of activity. I rectified it by creating
the following Action and assigning it to the Skybox in WED

Code:
Action SkyBox_Pos()
{
   while(1)
   {
      vec_set(me.x, Playermodel.x);
      wait(1);
   }
}

After that my problem went away.... grin then a whole slew of new ones appeared damnit,
but they were unrelated. wink

Hope this helps.
