Hey Everybody!

When flying around in a spaceship, i made, i am running into an invisible wall as soon as i am about 6.500 quants out in any direction.

It seems like i am flying around in an invisible cube, which holds a length of about 13.000 quants on each side.

But the camera, in Lite-C, i can easyly move around for more than a 100.000 quants.

What is the reason for these 13.000 quants?

i don't know, but try to set a higher nexus in WED?! Perhaps it helps!

you cant move too far from the last block on the map if you dont create a skycube, afaik.

??? my current test level is made up of 16 25,000 quant terrains, and I have no issues...with or without skycube(btw, not correcting you Quad, just pointing out there must be another issue).

Thank you all 3 of you for coming in here.

Since i am running the freeware version of Lite-C, i do not have WED, so i decided to download and install the whole A7-package having my 30 days trial. After having loaded my script into the SED of the A7-package, i saw that SED could "feel" a Lite-C script and therefore put up an icon the the upper right corner of the screen. When running the script i still banged my head against the wall about 6.500 quants out.

Then i went into WED and changed the nexus value to maximum. Another try with the script showed same results.

Could it be, because i am using a HMP-file as terrain instead of a real level made in WED? Or is it a sales political limit parameter in Lite-C scripts?

By the way, Nowherebrain, you are running 16 terrains, does this mean chunked terrains? Chunked terrains is not possible in Lite-C freeware edition, is it? Are you also running a Lite-C script?

Alright, I think I know what's going on, after days of testing. It seems that the level is constrained to be the minimum size necessary to contain all the models in the level- but only based on the position of the object and not the boundaries. So a large terrain model centered in the world does nothing to expand the level size as its boundaries are not considered. I think this is why others who have more complex levels haven't encountered this issue: as long as you have some object at each border, there's no issue. Only when you have items clustered toward the center of a model terrain will you start running into magic walls. Bummer that setting the level size in WED doesn't mean anything, except while working in WED.

If anyone knows how to adjust the level size manually, please let me know! =)

Cheers all!

Are you sure you are not bumping into your own skycube?
I have an infinite big space level and my spaceship flies from 1.600.000 quants to -1.600.000 quants, as expected.

I thought that the skycube follows your camera. So no, I'm not certain; however, placing objects @ the boundaries does expand whichever boundary is causing my objects to stop.

1) How do you adjust the size of your skycube if it is created in code? I.e. Entity* sky_whatever{}

2) When you say 'infinite' do you mean you put in 1,600,000 for the level size in WED, or is there some constant representing infinite?

3) Were you in fact adjusting the size of your level in WED, or is there some way to set it in lite-c?

4) In your space level, are there any objects in it, or just your spaceship?

Thanks so much for your response! I really appreciate it!

heh, sorry, 1 more question my buddy brought up:

5) Are you moving your ship with physics (phent_addcentralforce and/or phent_addvelcentral) or are you just updating your ship's position manually?

Thanks again!
