Hi All

I'm always getting low FPS about 20.

I'm using Win 2000 and have Radeon 9200 with T&L.

I get 20FPS with just a cube and one model, I think this is very bad, let me know your feedback :0

hhmmmm...
Sounds like you have used a very complex model with alot of poly's...
Or there is something wrong...
Can you describe the model ?

Do you have a background or a huge cube around the one cube with the camera pointed at it. Most cards will have a problem with rendering infinite space, or no bounderies.

Hi

No it was a small cube with one model and the default texture.

It's not that big the cube is small so something must be wrong. Anyone know what?

That may be the problem. Put a hollow cube around the cube and camera, with a simple texture. This will eliminate the "infinite" space.

Im gonna assume you are getting the FPS numbers from the debug panel. If you look at the column marked "ms", you will see the time taken to handle each frame. Look and see which values are high (and i use that term loosly, as its all relative). That should tell you where the time is being spent to lower the FPS. If you still need help, post what the debug panel shows, and Ill see if i can help out.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience

so, you have a hollow cube(with texture) and a camera and character in side. Simple character? Do you have a screen shot? Have you tried to build anything else to see if it gives the same results? What is all of the hardware on the system(RAM,processor, etc.)?
