I'm investigating some demoscene-style aesthetics for Galaxy Rage, and could use some feedback on this animation. It's just a quick-and-dirty effect. Any thoughts on how to make it awesomer?

It looks cool, yes.

But I wouldn't just scroll the text (it got off-sync pretty quickly) but rather use sentence by sentence and timing the text for the start of the new one. With the ';' it started lagging bad.

I would play with the fov and make a bit of a pulsating effect with it. also if you see a large group of gears, maybe some black halo lens effects coming from them would look kinda cool, like black green and dark purple/blue.

It doesn't look bad but there is something that is missing wink wink

Maybe a couple of effects like lostclimate indicated would make it more attractive. Although the main thing that came to my mind wasn't directly those missing potential effects but it was the text. It scrolls too fast to make a mindblowing impact so I suggest that changing the speed ratio relevant with the time ratio of the sound file thus spicing up that aspect smile smile

Anyway, creative concept ^^

Cheers

actually if you could even put several tempos of reading/scrolling in there it'd add an interesting effect as well.
