I prefer multiOS, for it would ... - Give texture artists freedom to actually create neat stuff
- Support older machines
- Allow creation of unique style
- Run faster without fallbacks and other extra scripting

Well, most likely, if the game is also designed for linux, freeBSD, Solaris or other non-DirectX machines (aka, it uses OpenGL), it's most likely to still support shaders.
I'm all with multiplatforming, because I use linux myself too, even though I game with Windows, at least most of the time.

Linux & Mac both support openGL so there's no reason not to support shaders. I agree. But I also vote multiOS because I am for getting people to use Linux as much as possible.
