@broozar: Yes, but changing the OS just because of one single error here looks a bit overdrawn to me.  But whatever, as without more information about the whole thing and circumstances giving any usefull hints will be difficult...

I had a same problem. Just update your windows from SP2\SP3 cd. It fixes that lag. If you lost your installation cd, try using other explorer app. (Think: Total Commander,ACDsee,Adobe Bridge,...)
I switched to other account since marth 2010. Guess which.
