Can somebody explain me, how the nexus-usage of a model file is calculated? My game becomes very useless, cause when i load (just) one of my model-enemys Nexus jumps from 5000KB to 256000KB ?!? This means i even cant load ONE enemy into my game ?!?!? Cause i dont want to exceed 200000KB Nexus. But at the moment i would need about 800 M B nexus to get the game run, with one weapon and 7 enemys....this just cant be true. Seriously i need help....quick The MDL files have 700 frames (each of them). The skin is 512x512 please sirs, help me

*What are the specs for the model? *How many faces, vertices, etc. does it have? *Surplus small gradual frames in animation sequences? --(animation scale) *check ent mem usage (kb) in F11 debug statistics panel Here: Nexus: 6MB MDL7 Skins: 1 Groups: 1 Vertices: 151 Faces: 278 Frames: 272 Bones: 0 ent mem usage 128kb ? Quoting rayp. Think i have to change the engine! Maybe that is the right way to go.

Im no model expert...dont know about specs? And my english is not so good... The Vertices: +-16600 Faces: +-3000 Bones: 0 Frames: 700 ent mem ? animation scale ? Should i try to downscale the model with 3DS...the vectices and faces ? Could this help ? Iam really depressiv right now ! I know its not "low poly" ...but the probs are the animations i think, cause without them the nexus seams to be ok. At the moment iam thinking about using sprite animations...but dont know how to make this. Maybe with name+X.tga, ENT_MORPH and FRAME/NEXT_FRAME....but this is not what i want as u can imagine. Are there any tricks to make models "less-nexus-using" ? Mayby the only way but im using this engine since a3. i dont want to use others... *cry*

I know its not "low poly" And why do you expect low poly mem useage then? Hmm, i really guess it has to do with the meshsize. Big meshes surprisingly have a big mem useage. The question is where your lots of mem useage comes from. What makes me wonder is the ratio of vertices versus faces you tell us. That's a odd ratio you have here. And points either to N-Gons or to a wrong number of faces you tell us here. Which both ends in much much more faces than you think you have. Anyways, what goes wrong cannot be answered without having a look at the mesh in question. Any chance to let us have a look at it?
