Hey , ChrissB or Esper, can you please verify for me, is the "float3 Tangent : TEXCOORD0" in all the VS_PASS function parameters that are wrong and should be TEXCOORD2? Or am I mis-understanding.
I really picked the wrong shader to hack at and learn from....

If i not use the shaer, the light has a fluid transition between the block-models You should probably learn how normal mapping works before you use it. normal mapping interpolates the shading partially between the vertices, so if you have several seperate models, they will never look consistant when lined up together.

...unless he unwelds the faces.
Just as lostclimate (nice to see u around) said, the normals of vertices are welded. Seperate the faces from the edges and it will look like one FLAT surface.
Trick!
Highlight the faces of the surface you want (in faces mode, not vertex). "copy" the faces. delete the faces... "paste" the faces.
They will be in the same place, but not connected to the surrounding faces!

Yeah, the pis shown did have that problem, and was fixed in a different thread. BUT this problem was causing a similar effect due to a coding typo in the shader code. ChrisB's suggested fix made it all better! Many thanks!
