i dont know why most of you dont like it but it looks very good to me. yeah i agree that it would be better with less edge blur and with fixed shadow flickering but it looks really good so far. and also he said he intentionally put so much blur on the edges so you can see that. it's easy to decrease or turn it off. and i'm not saying all that cause we're in the same team. it's my impression of it

To be honest, it really isn´t great at all... It looks as if you aren´t just not using the specmap, but as if there is even something wrong with your specularity calculation. The only thing I like a bit is the ambient occlusion, which is of course far not perfect and too dark, but it at least looks a bit usable. The shadows aren´t just flickering a lot, but also their visibility distance is definatly too low.
Btw, as far as I know you have to hide the dexsoft stuff and aren´t allowed to just put it into the folder...
Edit: I forgot to mention that there are some strange artefacts on the image, which are just at the bottom and aren´t changing...

I know those problems quite well and I am sure that they would already be fixed if it would be that simple...

hey, I forgot to mention, but you need a 8000+ series card to run the demo well.
Has anyone tried importing their own art? I'm curious to see how well it works with other levels.

I've already fixed every problem except the shadows - not hard at all I'll post an update in a day or two with the added features as well.
As for the models, DO NOT distribute them or use them for any other project. Otherwise I will need to take down the demo.

Also, even without any of the shadows or shading, Iridium makes your level render 3 to 4 times faster (especially with large number of polygons and lights). Worse comes to worse you can just use the rendering functions, allthough many of these shading effects are state-of-the art such as the SSAO which runs 2.5 times faster than the one from crytek.

I got a fairly solid ~58 fps on my 9600GT (overclocked). It looks nice. The specular effects do have some issues, and the atmospheric scattering effect suffers at the edges of the screen, presumably because it's a screen-space effect.
It's coming along nicely, and I look forward to the effects being cleaned up a bit.
