I am new to A7, when I open WED, and on the top left corner where the file, edit, mode, object, view, help tabs are I dont see a texture tab.
is it normal that there is no texture tab ?
if no how do i add a texture tab ?

Yes its normal.
Look a little further down(beyone the toolbar) and you'll see
some more tabs. Level - Presets - [b[Textures[/b]
(note: you must have a level loaded, or hit the "New" button, before they can be seen)
