I need something like c_content but since the manual suggests not to use it anymore i am looking for an c_content alternative.

Any ideas?

Thank you

Using a c_trace perhaps? But of course it's a slower command, and I can't really think of anything else to do it frown

You could also do a small c_scan with a small range around the entity, ignoring the scanning entity itself (of course) to check if its inside another entity?

Furthermore, you should be able to use it if you use the AABB collision system and non-mesh-based levels.
At least thats how I interpret the remark of the manual:
Quote:

Remarks:
Works only with non-mesh-based levels and the AABB collision system. Do not use this function for new projects.

It works in mesh-based levels too (Since it worked in my level).
But since the manual suggests not to use it anymore i dont want to use it.

But that is a problem since the trace method doesn't really work in some situations.
If i trace somewhere and do a new trace from the target.x in the same direction the trace goes right through blocks
because the target.x touches exacly a wall and trace seems to ignore the wall then (result=0).

But i really need an exact method...

I really hate to quote myself.
You don't necessarily need to use c_trace.

Why do you need to make a new trace from the target vector?

@ Xarthor: Your solution is not good since it doesnt has anything to do with blocks.
@ Pappenheimer: This is not important (and it would be a long story to tell what i am doing but it has something to do with pathfinding). I am already thinking of a work-around but its most likely not possible...

So you don't use a meshed-based level? or what do you need the blocks for?
The scan was an idea to determine if there is any other entity close-by, if yes you could check if its a static one (level geometry) or not.

However its hard to come up with a specific solution for your specific problem if you do not provide any information regarding your specific problem.
