In fact pure sword games are not really fun if you don't add some distance firing magic powers !

Well , in fact i have an idea that be cool for oblivion style game :
Depending on your weapon : sword , spear , the distance to touch ennemies could change a lot : with FPS you never really see visually the distance as well as on 2D games !!
So for 3D View : a visible indicator on floor showing how far you could hit would help a lot to visualise when you can hit ennemies depending on weapon lenght!
Another idea : For example a whip or magic fire ball could touch very far , but with lot more less damage than a sword : So you could switch between distance and range weapons as ennemies approach to you !
In fact Bioshock is the game that really shows what adventure mixed with FPS and RPG can do !
If they had done a more open universe with real outdoors (not only water), i would have appreciated it even more
