FreeWorld3D 2.0: http://freeworld3d.orgI haven't used it but it seems like it's exactly what you are looking for. Edit: Ok it seems like FreeWorld isn't for free ^^

What I would like to know is if there is any free terrain editor with the support of Multitexture Shader (like in GED)?

Hiya.
I own Freeworld3D and I *really* like a lot about it. The biggest drawback is getting stuff into and out of it in a usable format (if you don't know how to program to make your own .xml input/output plugin using the 'SDK'). That, and the creator is still doing his doctorate and so he still doesn't have quite enough time to devote to it. That's the core reason I switched to GROME II (and the guys at the helm of GROME II are easy to talk to and get help from; oh, and they have a plugin exporting to A7, Ogre and soon a few other engines).
Free and good? That's gonna be a bit tricky. It all depends on what you want to do and how much effort you want to put into learning. Blender will probably do the job quite well. I haven't tried it, but *maybe* trueSpace 7.x may do as well (it does export to .x). They're both free (although it will take some getting used to either's GUI).
