Hello! I am going to buy me a new CPU for my PC. I already bought a 9600 GT with 512 DDR3 and a 3GB Ram a half year ago. Now i want to buy a Quad-Core CPU. Now I have got two questions: 1. Is this a good idea - I mean does it make sense to buy a better CPU? 2. Which would be the best? Thanks for reading !

I recently build a completely new system which uses the following CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Its a 3.2 Ghz (per core) CPU for the AM3 socket.
edit: By the way: toast is right. You should consider what you will use the computer for, if a quad core is needed for the tasks you need the computer to perform etc.
