I am in a bit of trouble here.
I recently started using GS after trying some other engines.
From what I have seen so far GS is easy to learn with all the examples and tutorials available - Fantastic.

My problem: I want to bring all my models into MED so as to use them in a game. I exported them from 3dmax as an .x file. However, when they are imported in MED, the bones are altered, so that the model, as well as the animation are messed up. I decided, Ok, maybe I can just rebone and animate them from scratch, but the vertices on my models are not manipulated to my satisfaction, so I would prefer not to use MED for animation.

My question: Is there any way at all that I can get my models into GS, without altering them or thier animation?

Thanks, but none of those format store animations properly, if at all.
Plus MED does not import DXF. I tried all the possible formats including ASCII scene exporter, which crashes MED when the model is exported with animation selected. Perhaps if I can find a program that keeps the .x file intact along with the animation, then I might be able to export it from there and see how it works. Fragmotion exports to MDL, but it also imports the .x file out of sorts.
Anyone has any other ideas?

OKay...
I found the solution, and it works great!

Go to http://www.maxplugins.de/
Choose your version of max
Download B3d Pipeline v0.72 and the patch

I can now export from 3ds max to b3d and use fragmotion to export directly to MDL, and I can even choose to export with either bone or vertex animation.
It works perfect!
