This rainy weekend I started a small project to get some new feelings of success with GS. So I started with this mahjongg-clone: (click the image for the final & free version[5MB,zip])
"but quite lagging on my system" - puhhh - that's the GS-shadow. At the end there necessarily will be an option to switch it off (or I try just to activate shadows for the right & lower & topmost entites - maybe it performes)...
Quite nice mahjong clone, in fact too much for me as I didn't pass it
The first version lagged as mentioned quite much ( avg 22 fps on my computer) wheras the newer version had avg of 60 fps. Does this really need shadows anyway? When this' a simple board game shadows are secondary thing in my opinion, but it's your call. One thing too I missed was right-click for de-select. It's nothing major but would help me (atleast) playing when I tend to click here and there all the time I play.
I'm glad about smooth running now. I'll check the shadow-workarround for missing shadows. The deSelect-rightclick will definitly implemented - good idea.
Next steps are also: some predefined tilesets and some new tile layouts.
