Kino One Has been Releaseded....ed!

Trailerses:

Release Trailer 01
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cilcKVsV7Rc

Release Trailer 02
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kJTI0aMN5I

This has been a long time coming, and sorry we didn't update much after a while, but Kino One is done...released...finished. Kino is our second video game right after PreVa. We had lots of fun making and testing the game, we decided not to make it publicly tested.

And.....We got on Direct2Drive wink

This is more-or-less a blatant showoff thread (there's nothing wrong with that) with screenies and if you want to check out our website then the info is below. Temporal Static Studios did our music for this game as well, and did a fantastic job mixing old-skool 8-bit tunes with instrumentals and electronic music.

Also, if you want the demo it is below.

THE DEMO!!!!!

And we're also announcing that this may be our last game on GameStudio.

This is not our last game! Just our last on GameStudio!

We'd also like to thank all those that supported us, and to all that bought and played PreVa, you guys really helped out alot.

Well I suppose my showcase rant is over.

Post your feedback on the website, the demo, the game, the trailers....whatever. We're already excited, you'll just make it even more awesome! grin

The demo crashes right after the tutorial...

...

Hm maybe it is because i have a screen res. of 1920*1080?

Could be, try changing it in the menu.

Simply looks beautiful. Respect for your work. And now you change the engine?
Always sad to read that a main acknex developer leave the community.
To Unitiy?

Main GS developer? grin
Anyway no we'll be moving on to torque.

Quote:
Indeed, that might be good news on both accounts.

Yes! I agree wink

@ all those nice comments: Thanks guys grin It's encouraging to hear such comments on this game. We do like it alot. laugh

@ those who haven't played the demo: You need to, the humor continues, if you liked it in the trailers you'll like it in the game. wink

It is pretty annoying that the game sets the volume to 100% when it starts. It almost killed me and my headset tongue

This looks very professional and well done. Great work!

I'm very tempted to download a demo... Must do homework first, though.

The game is very nice. The looping enemies become quite apparent and shooting that last tiny enemy in order for the next wave to proceed is sort of witty. I'd also have expected more levels and power-ups than the demo offers (and more than 4 in general). Sometimes I can't grab the extra life when I kill a boss and my ship immediately warps to the next level when I destroy it. But those are just minor downsides. The game plays great and it's not too hard to dodge bullets. Controls are really good, I like it. The effects and appearance make this game and it's the reason I bought it.

Great job.

Thanks to all of you. Sorry for the Volume puppeteer. o.o

@redeemer: finish it quickly!!! grin

@jozey: thanks. You are a shooter fan indeed wink

@ratchet: Thanks for the great comment. I won't reveal our next project yet, but our engine will be Torque 3D. We plan to get it asap. And if you want to buy it that won't hurt our feelings at all.

Even after changing the resolution the game still crashes after the sequence after the tutorial...
Has anyone tried it on a 16:9 screen (except me) yet?

I think we had one pc that tested with a widescreen format (i'm not 100% sure), but i don't recall them having a crash. This error is new to us...
