So, for the past year or so, I have been looking at pc hardware and asking, "Why so big, why so loud?", especially when compared against the latest console counterparts. And I looked at the PS3, then I looked at the 360 (Several of these things... stupid RROD when out of warranty), and I asked myself, why not build a basic (Basic=Cheap) gaming system in as small of a form factor as I could manage.. this soon moved away from gaming and into the realms of the HTPC (This is my 3rd generation of custom htpc, each gen getting smaller, more powerful, and more custom)... Well, here is what I came up with; a Core2Duo system inside an Original Nintendo Entertainment system... This system has finally been purchased, and most of the case fabrication/retrofit has been completed, and I wanted to show you all what I have come up with, and so, here is the NES PC in all its glory:

As well, here are the official specs:
Intel BOXDG45FC MINI-ITX LGA775 DDR2 G45 PCI-E1 Audio GBLAN GMA X4500HD Video HDMI DVI Motherboard
Intel Core2Duo E6400 w/ Thermaltake meorb HSF Unit
2GB Kingston DDR2-667
Patriot 32GB Warp Solid State Drive
Integrated Intel XD4500HD Graphics (HDMI and DVI Connections, set to 256MB)
150 Watt Pico-PSU Power Supply

Edit: I have also preserved the original NES LED Power Light, Power Button and the Reset Button (Reset button had to be put on a newer, smaller switch though).

Regards,
Ayrus

USB ports are still in shipping, however the front usb will go where one of the controller ports was, as well as a front audio port. The other controller port will house the IR reciever.

Also, in the next few days, I'll be cutting the back panel hole so that I can mount the motherboard and install the I/O Shield as well.

Well, Its been a bit since I have really worked on the NES PC Here, but since it has now made it through all my stress tests, its time to clean up the guts a bit... I have mounted the HDD Tray in place (Had to modify it to fit the way I would like), as well, the motherboard tray has been mounted as well. All that is left is for me to make up some mock-up back panels for it to see which one will do what I want and look how I want, as well as actually procuring some IR Transmissive Plexiglas/Plastic (Smoked Gray colour) for the controller ports...
Anyways, here are a couple shots of the case sans hardware (Well, the Hard drive is installed anyways)...
