bmap_for_screen makes an image of all elements on screen as a particular time correct? is there a way to exclude a specific panel from being captured in this shot?

dnt sughest disabling the panel and re-enabling it after the function, that doesnt accomplish what i want..

OR

is there a way to speed up the bmap_for_screen function? setting modify to 1 doesnt help really, so no need to suggest that..

any ideas?

I´ve got no idea what you plan to do, but there is a feature called render to texture, which may helps you.

you can render the view to a texture as Nils suggested, but that will exclude ALL panels.

Not really as there is this: http://www.conitec.net/beta/target_map.htm
You just have to render the view and the panels into the same bmap.

oh right, i forgot about that. but i guess this is not what he wants either.(you know making the panel invisible for a frame is alot easier.)

alot easier but not what i want, you should all see the effect in the next scion vid soon wink

but, can i get some info on render_to_target, i want to make a copy of the screen and save it in a bmap

tell us, why switching of a panel isn´t a possibility. I mean render to texture is nothing else than rendering into another texture than the backbuffer.

i was trying to use the panel to hide the noticeable pause when bmap_for_screen is called, disabling that panel defeats that solution, however, i dont need that solution if i can rendertargets to work, so does anyone have info on how i can basically write a screenshot of the screen into a bmap, i dont care if it shows panels or not

wait(1);
