Some time ago i had a flare code for download on my hp. Here's a new version:
Flares.zip Assign it to a flare sprite (like flare.pcx from templates) and set
distance (to rotate around origin)
scale
fade_dist (distance fom where fading begins)
alpha_min
alpha_max
The flare effect should now face the camera and rotate around the origin, so it will not be cut by other objects. If the origin isent anymore in sight, the flare will be switched off.
