I am using a day/night cycle and models as my building structures in my level. Below are screenshots of what's happening.

As you can see with camera.clip far set below 60000 I am getting the shadow light problem as show in the pictures on the left.
If I set camera.clip_far to 60000 it works fine as you can see by the pictures on the right. Is this a bug or is it something
I am missing.
I am using shadow_stencil = 4 also happens at 2
By the way I am aslo using a terrain for my surface.

It looks like a bug, but I'm not sure about the cause. Clip_far affects stencil shadows, but it should not lead to these artefacts.

Can you contact Support and send them this level? They'll check.

Thanks jcl. Sent a post.
Another strange thing that has been happening is this,
After changing parts of my code and running via SED I get an ERROR 1513
crash in main after around 10-20 runs.
I then close SED reload SED and rerun the code it works fine

Maybe it helps.
But just today I had exact the same issue. My clip_far is also set to very very hight.
But it only happens with stencil_shadow 2 and above.
To avoid it I just used stencil_shadow 1 and it works perfectly.

At least it's not me then smile
stencil_shadow 1 is no good for my purpose as the shadows don't bend (follow terrain slopes etc).
Anyway looks like it's a bug so it needs to fixed.

Yes, the version you've sent last wednesday worked. I haven't looked into it myself yet, but have heard the clip ranges were just set up wrong, exceeding the z buffer resolution. The z buffer has 24 bits on a normal 3D card. The far/near ratio must not exceed that, otherwise you'll get z buffer artifacts.

Ah ok, so how do I calculate the ratio I need?

EDIT: I figured it out but I still get the same problem!
