There is a code of David Lanchester the written in version A6.40 which is also the same symptoms like my code. The code was first written for previous versions A6.31 but David was corrected and adjusted for the 6:40 version. I have no doubt that he could miss something because I consider him a one of legend in this community. This code not work in A7.82 version but work in A7.07.

I got a similar problem months ago when I updated my gamestudio edition from 7.60 to 7.77 or something. The solution was very simple. I copied the gamestudio source files from the "Include" folder out of the gamestudio directory to my project folder when I updated to 7.60 years ago. Later when updating to A7.77 I forgot to overwrite those old and incompatible files with the new ones. The result was that I couldn`t compile my project. Later after overwriting the files everything worked fine again. So if you did the same mistake like me back then, the solution is quite simple.

Yes i think i understand what you wanted to say but just for that reason i set this code from David Lancester. I think the problem is not this, I have installed on the second computer the latest version 7.82, and when i run this code from original testlevel by David same thing happens. Code works well until the moment when i try to compile level.

I have news about my problem. With the latest beta version 7.84 code works without breaking the engine, but appears slightly hopping players. With earlier versions of the moments that happened while the player walks, trace drop him about 5000 quants in the air. I doubt that old trace_mode does not work well on new versions, but now bothering me more curious why it's happening, than a problem to improve my movement code with c_trace c_move.
If someone can answer me this question, i would be very grateful wink.

Maybe it specific code, but it still annoys me is why the code work on A7.07 and does not work on newer versions?

AFAIK c_trace and trace behave differently, for instance you trace 5000 quants and hit nothing:
c_trace returns a distance of 0
trace returns a distance of 5000.
This could be the problem, only a guess.

hi there people,
@IGLARION man you really should upgrade your 3dgs version,
the A7.07.6 is very buggy,plus "some people may think you'r using illegal version"LOL grin!!?
The transition from c-script to Lite-c
isn't that hard,it's vice versa.
I really think lite-c is alot more easier and powerfull than c-script,but after all it's you'r choice man wink

Friend you might not reading from the beginning, or is my English is so terrible crazy???
I am all the time trying to find out why code that works on my version of 7.07 not work on version 7.80, and I would like everyone to use the latest version, but my code does NOT WORK on version 7.80!!!!!! And for converting 25,000 lines of code I have already explained.

I do not use the A7 just to use it, but to finish the game which I started 3 years ago so that I do in that version, in which my codes are working and that this bugy version. And now is the time to do light in levels i have problems with this version lot of lighting bugs, and i must update to new version or back to A6.60.

Has anyone tried this code at the new version of A7?
Still bothering me why the code works on 7.07 and does not work on 7.80 cry.

I really have no luck frown .

I'm trying for a long time to fix this code to work on the last version of A7, but soon as i fix one thing, the other does not work well.

I decided to get back to A6.60, but let me be a new problem: The draw_line3d function is only implemented in A7, and for my player movenent i use this function cry .

So now I'm trapped with this bugy version. Is anybody can help me to get out of the twilight zone...

You work 3 years on a game with a certain Version, and now
you wine about that it does not integrate seamlessly into
the recent version...

Either do the work and convert your code,
or keep developing with the old version (wich worked obviously for
3 years) to get it done.

The game started at 6.40 version. Over time i improved my code and released the A7. Because of the faster engine i decided to continue playing with the A7 and there my problems begin. Of course I'm not so good programmer, but i learned from other examples of how to write code, I used other people's contributions and promote them to get what i imagined. Of curse for this reason i decided to 3dgs for he is the easiest tool for creating 3D games. Clearly written in the update manual:

I hope you understand that I have big problems to my knowledge it cant to solve this problem, and therefore seek help - not to someone else converted all my code, but explain to me why the code behaves differently in these versions, or even better how to correct a lighting bug in these version (which i think is not possible).

If there are any changes in reading old syhtah of c-script in lastes version, i would to know because so far I have not had a similar problem although i tried all versions since the release of the first A6. Am surprised that no one had similar problems like me sick ?

PS: Unimportant but I forgot to tell and others trouble who i have with this version. WED level editor I opened about 20 seconds. I use first free MED editor that came out with the free lite-C, because MED from 7.07.6 version opens the model also about 15 seconds cry cry cry
