I played around with ARToolKit in Gamestudio yesterday and just want to show my results here wink.
There actually is something wrong with the coordinates and rotation, or only the rotation, but at least it kinda works as you can also see in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=denq7XfrMTg

I love such stuff, so I hope that you like it as well wink.

Nice work! You even have multimarker support working.
I tried to implement ar in the past but never got anything to work (i didn't use ARKit but the one that comes with the book "Augmented Reality: A practical approach").

If you ever get this working nicely, you already have a buyer. I've been looking for an easy non-flash AR solution for ages now.

[edit] Is this OpenGL based as the ARToolKit or do you use A7's native dx renderer?

Very good work! I played with ArtToolKit a few years ago using a VFX3D HMD with mounted Webcam.

You got it to work within Gamestudio? Wow!

Please post code if possible.

DevoN, that isn´t really a glitch. It is just the markers which aren´t completely visible to the camera and thus can´t be detected correctly.

Richi007, I am thinking about that, but didn´t come to a decision yet, as I am only very partly happy with what I´ve got so far.

BoH_Havoc, I am using gamestudio bitmaps and entities and am just getting the entity position and rotation from ARToolKit. Everything else is handled by A7 and DirectX.

If anyone is really good at coordinate systems, matrices, vectors and quaternions it would be great if you could help me figure out on how to get correct position and rotation values from the matrix provided by ARToolKit. As so far it is only partly correct. If you think that you can and want to help me I would be more than happy if you could contact me through pm or this thread.
These are the only information I found about ARToolKit: http://www.hitl.washington.edu/artoolkit/documentation/cs.htm
What I´ve got is a 3x4 matrix and I want to extract the position and the rotation as euler angles, so that it can be directly assigned to a gamestudio entity.
If I get this to work correctly, I will of course share the whole stuff.

I guess you can get the Euler angles from a matrics with ang_for_matrix just adding a fourth row with (0 , 0 , 0 , 1) to your original 3x4 matrix.
the offset location i think is stored then in the fourth column.

my first impression of this picture was. Great renderings looks realistic as I saw the video i noticed what augmented Reality is.
