Well, I'm back, with a whole new level of I CANT SKIN!

This is my new gun. Its a replica of the guns in cartoons where they just shoot out the word BANG on a flag. Mine has a slight twist.

Here is the bullet it fires. (complete with animation)

Instead of just holding the flag outside the gun, it shoots the whole flag! When it arrives at its final destonation, it imeadietly explodes.
I have made a really small level to demo the shooting action with a super-modified version of the AUM rocket shooter. (Now that made sence)

Download...
http://anotherworld.pyxishost.com/bang_gun/bang_gun.zip
(demo - PRESS CTRL TO FIRE)
http://anotherworld.pyxishost.com/bang_gun/bang_gun.mdl
(the gun)
http://anotherworld.pyxishost.com/bang_gun/bang_gun_bullet.mdl
(the bullet)

When you run the demo notice the gun has "Stop in mid-air and play the expand animation for the bullet and then continue moving because I didnt know how to do it any other way" technology. SIMAPTEAFTBATCMBIDKHTDIAOW for short. Does anyone know how to fix my SIMAPTEAFTBATCMBIDKHTDIAOW?

Cheers
AMan

P.S. YES! I know the gun skin couldent get any worse if I did it blindfolded and with no hands.

EDIT: Does anyone know how to fix the collision detection? Ex. Shoot the soda machine, it will go right through.

Nice one! Very good....

I like that it pauses and drops its banner before flying off... as for exploding before passing the object, use some kind of trace system to detect the objects... make the trace range short and sweet and it shouldnt effect performance too much...

Another good effort from the A-Man

That wouldn't be a bad game idea to have a kinda spy verus spy game where you try to destroy each other with ridiculous weapons.

Well just to go on the record here, the whole point of this competition was to create a comp where the comp holder did not steak material by way of a prize.

So just to let you know, the idea of making a toonish game with silly weapons is not on our drawing board, future game releases, proof of concepts or what ever you call them....

But if anyone else wants too....well thats up to them
