Has anyone got bump mapping on level geometry working yet. I've spent ages trying to get it to work with the new A6.31 beta.I could get it working in A6.21

Could someone please help and post a demo or code

Thanks

Oh that's a waste of time.. best not try it. There's no true bumpmaping on level geometry yet, though it really isn't too difficult now with tangent space in the new update.

I agree, it's nothing great, but it could at least teach him how to apply maybe his own shaders to level geometry.

All it does is use the DotProduct3 ColorOp to map a normalmap onto a surface. While in theory it is bumpmapping, it is still useless because it isnt affected by level lighting. The same exact thing can be achieved with good texturing.

Yeah lol,
This bumpmapping actually made my really good textures look like crap.:P
I can't wait until somebody gets parallax mapping working.

and it's very slow, too (nobody says anything good, poor bumpmapping )

This shader doesn't seem to be complete crap.
I started playing with this shader again, 'cause I was curiuose about just what it could do with a good looking normalmap and texture.

Check out the results I got while running an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 gfx card:

Sure, it can look good. But you can make that other wall texture look exactly the same in photoshop without a shader at all.
