@Germanunkol it's not a trailer, it's the introduction cinematic and it's not a big deal really, it's just boring cause it takes a lot of time to render it. But i'm nearly done.

@Machinery_Frank you are absolutely right, that render was done at 5am yesterday, i was really tired so i couldn't bother to re-render once i noticed.. but i've switched the sky texture now.

Here is a new one, not final but getting closer to the desired picture..

Hey Damocles thanks, I'm gonna have a look at it right away!
I'm assuming this code is done in c-script, it would have been great if it was lite-c instead. But I'll worry about that later.
Right now I'm exporting characters along with their animations, this has taken me quite some time, trying to understand, manually fix and import bvh mocaps into 3dsmax. It's been a pain but i'm almost there.



As for the scenario, I'm still on hold. I can't get a decent looking terrain with my current "betatester shade-c version" (havoc said he was almost done writing the documentation files and send us a new updated version, but it's been a week already and i got nothing yet doh!).
And for obvious reasons I can't keep on adding elements (like rocks, or desert plants, etc etc) to a terrain that i can't even display correctly yet, thus I wouldn't be able to judge if they all match in style.

So I'm waiting on that, and doing other stuff in the meanwhile.

I think I still can remember those first pathfinding demos from those days... a long long time ago. xD

Finally I've been able to export some of the animation cycles!! I'm lacking "die" and "jump" just yet.

Guys... It's not much yet (shade-c is broken so no antialiasing, the terrain looks ugly, broken shadow stencils, etc etc) but it's slowly comming to life laugh

The scripts are really old.
I think he will have to rewrite the mechanics.

The "ship" looks too dark compared to the sky and to the terrain. Lighting also does not fit to the sky. The ambient light should be blue like the upper sky and the sun should be desaturated and bright orange like the horizon.

Currently the model is not part of the scene.

When you have problem with stencil shadows, then your mesh has open edges. Shadow stripes will leak from there because of faulty volume extrusions.

there was a plugin by chris3d (i think, there are two chris' w/similar names so im not sure i said the right one) that you can use more effiecient stencils that i believe even work with open mesh's. although im not sure if its been broken by any of the updates to the engine since it was released. probably not even worth the search effort if your going to use shadec anyways, but figured i'd offer up the info anyways.
