*sigh*

I can almost see the harsh responses in this forum if someone used grass sprites/models like in the 2nd shot.

Why are they doing this... ? frown

Is the last picture you posted available as poster or high-res image?
If you push the quote button of Spikes post you get the highest resolution version around the web I think.
Damned epic, of course. Thx Spike.

How should they display grass else? Dont see why someone should complain about grass sprites...

I just got to know that it's a 25th anniversary fan art. I also found this 7MB high-res version which I guess is the original. That should be high-res enough for a poster print (although I guess I'll run a edge preserving softener over it so the harsh brush strokes get blurred a bit)... laugh

Now I have something I can google again... wink
I guess I'll play it simple and use my beloved Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8. It has a filter called "Rauschen entfernen mit Kantenschutz" which works very well. It preserves fine details while it smudges the brush strokes on the rather uniform areas and thus takes a bit from the noisy impression of those areas away...

But I guess now we're derailing the thread... grin

@Toast:
The gamescom demo was made for the E3 only. Its not in the game like that. it was custom build.

also, the last two pics you showed are not in the final game of TP. they are from antother E3 demo of the game...

last:
i am looking for a large version of the pic myself. i would even pay for a poster. alas, no such luck...

I just ordered a poster based on the picture and cut it into two 30x90cm pieces. It slightly cuts some space off on the right and left but that's ok (and there's not much "content" anyway). I'll drop a line when I know if that was a good idea or not... wink

FYI:
The poster looks great. I ordered it at posterxxl.de and the quality is really good (just as my few former orders there). Just one minor downside: It seems that the cut wasn't very precise and thus the lower poster is slightly more than one mm wider and thus doesn't match perfectly (not in terms of image content but I guess the upper half "lost" one mm when being cut or something like that). You have to stand right next to it to notice though...
