Call Of Death
Watch out! Because there's a zombie invasion, and someone is pretty pissed off about that. It's Dirty Dick Johnson, and we are proud to show you his new game named "Call of Death: Chapter one". It's a complete indy production, we are currently looking for publisher and are evaluating online distribution platforms. YOUR MISSION: You are Dirty Dick Johnson, a guy who doesn't care about anything but girls'n booze. But since the Pussy Palace, Big City's nr. 1 adress for first class adult dancing entertainment couldn’t open because of the zombie invasion, you'll have to make your way out into the city to bring back all the lost strippers. There might be some zombies in your way... GAME FACTS: * A fast paced first person SHOTER with a lot of action, hot babes and really black humor * Easy accessable arcade gameplay, cinematic kill scenes and countless gallons of zombie blood to be shed * Weapon shop with 12 weapons and a lot of additional items to be purchased * 5 levels / 3 versions to play each map / 3 mini games to be revealed throughout the game * 1st of 3 planned chapters Promo-Teaser: http://www.youtube.com/user/crew51videos?feature=mhsnwww.callofdeath.comBefore we forget: Similarities with certain characters or games are absolutely coincidential!

I agree with 3run, if Zapan doesn't have the resources/time/whatever to publish the game, someone else should do it. The games quality is really good and there is a lot of potential in the game, it would be a shame to throw it away. If this is done by either open sourcing the game or by something else, I don't care. Just finish the project.

alpha_strike, so you would better let your project die and get lost on your hard drive, rather then see it getting published by someone?? This sounds senseless for me! All month which you've spent working hard on project will be completly useless... And I think you should apologize for calling me asshole without even getting the point of my post! JustSid explained my point of view as well, if you still didn't get it. And yes, I used word bitch too, but I see no reason for myself to apologize for you (I can apologize for Zapan using this word in his thread and making small offtopic now), cause you've should expect me to react for your overreaction (yeah even so bad)! If this is something personal for you, don't forget to PM me! And please, sorry for offtopic Zapan.

I think that there is not a "no go point" at all. Steam is not the only publisher in the world. It´s just one of the big guys. To be refused by them (and maybe two or three more) doesn`t mean that the game has no chance to succeed anymore. Most of the indie games are self-published. Just a mimimalistic percentage of the games (the absolute best ones) are sold on Steam and Direct2Drive. But nevertheless there are big commercial successes for the smaller games, too. Because we`re living in the 21th century and there are things like ICQ, Facebook, Skype, StudiVZ, Twitter - and Gaming magazines! People TALK about your game and then buy it. They don`t see your game in the store and throw their money away for an unknown product. That`s the way things work. And that`s your chance with your game. The game doesn`t look bad at all from what I`ve seen until now. It`s quite the opposite: You`ve got a pretty unique game in the right time. Throwing it away would be absolutly senseless and irrational. You should promote your project! The Gamestudio Trailer would have been a great chance to get some attention. It was not a smart decition at all to let that chance go without even asking if it`s worth it. The Supercan trailer has been watched by 8.850 people within 1.5 months (!) coming from gamestudio.com so far. There are websites like GamersGlobal.de where it`s easy to post a video or an article that will be read by thousands of people. What about a report about your company and "surviving as an indie games developer" or maybe "Bringing shareware back to life"? You could promote your product on the sideline. There are so many chances to make a successful game without Steam and other big publishers. Now. It`s just about the marketing and the way you`re presenting yourself. It would be nothing than self-desturctive to let those chances go.
