Hey folks, things are going a bit slow lately, I'm playing around with some Shade-C values though.

We don't have a stable combat system yet,
I haven't heard from Damocles this past week but I believe he went silent because he's working on the project and doesn't want any distractions.

It looks very nice, especially for a hobby project, but next gen is extremely overrated. I haven´t seen any next gen game for several years now, I mean, just imagine the possibilities with up to date pc hardware using tesselation, direct and indirect lighting and all the other fancy stuff plus some totally new gameplay experience. The last real "next gen" game was probably Crysis, at least from a technical point of view...

Not much to say about the screenshot that hasn´t been said to previous ones already wink.
I like it a lot, even though it still feels a bit empty, but I guess that is just fine, as you seem to be alone with creating the artwork.

This scorpion is worth showing, it's ratchet's contribution to the wasteland project.

Well considering it's indie project with a coder and an artists it have a really good amount on things already running on the level !
Specially considering the team have their live outside to
manage so they're not full time project also !

It's not a company wiht lot of Pro 3D artists with years of experience and freelance people behind !

--------------

I think like some indie projects what matters will be the
global game experience and pleasure of gameplay, minimum good graphics (or good original style) and pleasure of RPG progression or story progression !

Perhaps like :
- Cool combat gameplay (not deep but entertaining, engaging)
- Simple but effective RPG system : perhaps with a tree of
powers to unlock ? or materias on weapons or whaterver else
- Different and varied levels with their own monsters
- A general map allowing to select and replay levels already
done to unlock things with new powers , or discover secrets
not reached/seen (hidden treasures) !
- Some simple Towns (Follout Like) with some NPC and some
merchants ?
Or a general store accessible at any save point (FF13 like)
Perhaps less Work for and Indie project

Well just be inspired by Torchlight or Follout 3 or Borderlands laugh

Keep it up !

Do you start writing one thing then change your mind half way through but keep the original idea?

This game is pretty much the exact opposite of what you've wrote and systems that you've mentionted are created in studios because of the time that they have to develop them...

Nice scorpion though grin

Great work guys, looking better week on week!

I have to admit I like how it's turning out.

I'd wish you'd show new scenes, UI or new gameplay videos showing something interesting, such as interaction.

Seeing how you adjusted HDR or added a scorpion doesn't still tell me exactly to what direction you are going with it. I get it the progress is slow and you want to keep us updated, but updating is not worth it if you just give us simple things (i.e. the HDR adjustment). You could make less consistent, but bigger updates.
