DDT has published the SkullS demo application v1.5 that showcases pictures, music and a small battle demo that can be played in order to feel game mechanics and gameplay.

About the SkullS...

The SkullS is a 3D cartoony, action-adventure game with fast paced gameplay. Each level is introducing a quest with dynamic battles against the various enemies, spell casting & lots of item to be used at the right time at the right place. You are playing the role of the ancient warrior hired by the monarch to defeat the skeleton hordes that have taken over the castle of the mysterious race of wizard-woman. To successfully complete your quest you will have to defeat all the enemies scattered across the various locations, use teleports in order to reach inaccessible rooms and collect artifacts that are locked inside the treasure chests. You will also need to collect manna fragments in order to cast spells and keys in order to unlock treasure chests.

Sure, I was thinking about filming the gameplay after I fix few things. The new Skulls demo v5 will be done by tomorrow so I'll also do the video & make two uploads, demo to 4Shared & gameplay clip to YouTube:)

He,he you are right, congrats on a good memory:) It's a looong story but in a few lines it's like this:

Project started as a Masters of the Universe fan-fiction game called Secret of the Sword with 3D surroundings & 2D characters but later evolved into fully original 3D game called Blade of Power. After that I realized that I can't use 80% of the geometry since BoP was very different from SotS. At that time we also began working on George Dan Pirvu's Untitled Platformer (now: J,J&BUM) that started as a GS community project but unfortunately lost most of it's developers in about a year (btw that project is still happening, Ivan & me will continue our work on it as soon as Skulls are done). After few months we gave up on BoP & just compiled two mini-games for fun: SotS/Castle Rooms & Mer-Man's Lair.

After some time I decided that it's incredibly stupid to throw away 5 completely usable levels so I started experimenting with cartoon outlining & textures & we called the new game Skulls:):) That's about it in 5 sentences:)

Hey Pabvle, even if your game looks good it is sad that you gave up on SotS because I was and still am a big fan of MotU laugh

You are right: ones a MotU fan always a MotU fan:):) ..so I didn't really, actually & permanently gave up on He-Man game, I just switched concepts:):)

Don't know if you followed George's community project when it started, but when it did start as a Untitled Platformer, it was initiated by George with a very simple platform solution that was introduced in the AUM90/Plug&Play section. Well I'm using that code as bases for my new, fully 2D MotU game:):) It's not day-to-day active project but I'm working on it from time to time. Here are some screens:

@Pavle: little tip for your 2d sparetime project:
get a vector program and retrace the graphics of the characters. Allos you to create smooth animations(based on fps you use for animation^^) and gives a cleaner look wink

Thanx for the tip, I'll look into it:) My solution for 2D characters is also closely related to 3D models, panel is actually following the invisible 3D model & synchronizing it's animation loops with it:)

The new SkullS demo version 5 is now available for download on 4Shared & a walkthrough video has been uploaded to YouTube:)

Fixed bugs:
The text on in-game panels is larger & in more comfortable font.
The player model should keep his z values after death & level re-load.

Forgotten:
Unfortunately the last caption on the in-game option panel is still >smooth fps< and it should be >brightness< instead:)

Storyline relevant npcs:
Demo now has story-relevant characters that player can interact with & that can give him tips/help regarding other game entities/objects or mission goals.

Easy gameplay:
The K key can now be used to randomly kill few or all enemies during battles.

I hope that now everything will work as it should:):)

Awesome video, but couldn`t you upload the game to another mirror? 3 Parts on a fileuploader with big waiting time for each file is .. suboptimal. What about Mediafire?
