hi,

maybe some of us already knew the website of mixamo.
Besides the predefined animationsets costs cash,
they give their "pro" characters away for free.

This are not only a few models.

You can complete customize them. Face generation...select a skin....hair...various eyes and cloth them like you want.

Male and female.
And they are full rigged !.... with face bones !

Awesome.

And as they wrote in their license...models can used in commerial games.

I'm shure some of us find this usefull.

http://www.mixamo.com/

regards,
maik

This is awesome! Seems as if you could create any character you want for free!

not any, only some characters and anims... and spend a lot of money in small amounts when you really want a completely animated character grin

@sivan:

what ? You should check it again .... go to >Pro character< and customize it completely for your needs.

You can change anything ....faces...hair..clothes...body....melting parts of 2 diffrent faces together to a new.

HAve another look at this. And animating this rigged figures are fun. Because they have the seems at the right places.

You can preview the animations in webplayer for free.
I made screenshots on each third keyframe and animated my model with it ... in MED.

The result is realy nice. And that for free......

Okay I tested this tool for a while but then I found out that animations are really really expensive which makes the tool not as neat as I thought in first place.

That's something i noticed : animations are not free !

I prefer to do any animation i want in Blender even if it's not motion capture i can achieve good things and custom not too generic also.
For me Blender blendre rules , it's entirely free, you just have to learn skinning and animating !

Gett'n full customizable models, textured, rigged and animated for free is a bit to much of a dream.

And if that would happen why cant Mixamo create the whole game for you ?

.... stay'n realistic!

The animations are no problem. Only a little work but with good results.

The webplayer shows the animations without cash. Just click stop on the timeline and make a screenshot on each frame or each third one.

Then add animationframes in MED and use the screenshots as backgroundimages.
Move the bones around like on the backgroundimages. Play the animation and youre ready.

So you come quit fast to round looking walkcycles and other animations......little work but free !
