Hi, would there be an issue if I were to remake an existing game and sell that for profit? Let's take an old game like Bomberman for example. If I were to completely redesign maps, game modes, models, etc. but still keep the core game idea, would I run into copyright issues with Hudson Soft?

Thank you in advance for your insight!

Probably not. But do not use any previous art(sound, levels, music, models, graphics, names and brands)

Your have to research into it abit more...

but I would say if you completly make everything and can prove you dont use any exsisting stuff, code included then I would say your safe.

Obviously this includes the name Bomberman in some cases. depends if Bomberman has been registered (R) as a trademark or not.
